Recommendation:
The HMS Radio (VRC-126(V)1) has been fielded as a modern replacement with the Active Duty Army Maneuver SHORAD (M-SHORAD) systems. B/2-174th ADA, and Avenger SHORAD unit, successfully utilized these modern replacements for all tactical communications during their deployment to Eastern Europe from 2022-2023. As a highly resilient, easily deployable communications system, the VRC-126(V)1 offers easy integration between modern and legacy radio systems, making it ideal for Federal and State operations. Recommendation: Amend the current C4I resolution 3D to read: That Army National Guard Infantry Brigade Combat Teams and Short Range Air Defense formations receive proportional and concurrent fielding of Handheld, Manpack, and Small Form Fit (HMS) tactical radios.
