Proposal: Amend the law to allow dual status technicians and Title 32 Active Guard Reserve (AGR) members to keep Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP), enlistment, reenlistment, and affiliation bonuses.
Recommendation: Recommend amending the law to allow dual status technicians and Title 32 Active Guard Reserve (AGR) members to keep Selected Reserve Incentive Program (SRIP), enlistment, reenlistment, and affiliation bonuses.
Under current legislation, Guardsmen and Reservists are not eligible for the same retention and special bonuses if they are a Title 32 Technician. Under current legislation, Guardsmen and Reservists are not eligible for the same retention and special bonuses if they are a Title 32 Technician. This creates an inequality between the full-time Title 32 Technicians and their Drill Status Guardsman counterpart. This greatly impacts recruiting and retention of servicemembers in the Guard and Reserve and entices the Title 32 Full-time technician to find full-time employment outside of the organization.
