M1A2SEPV3 (modernized Abrams tank). Plan for 87 per Armored Brigade Combat Teams.
Recommendation: Current congressional funding allows for up to 70 upgraded M1A2s per year, which does not support ARNG Modernization waypoints. Increasing the funding to allow for upgrading 87 M1A2’s per year will facilitate modernization glidepath.
