AIR NATIONAL GUARD MQ-9 REMOTELY PILOTED AIRCRAFT (RPA), GROUND CONTROL EQUIPMENT, and SQUADRON OPERATIONS CENTERS
Date Submitted: March 23, 2021
Type Draft Resolution: New Resolution
Submitter: Jeff Schortmann
PROPOSED RESOLUTION RELATING TO AIR NATIONAL GUARD MQ-9 REMOTELY PILOTED AIRCRAFT (RPA), GROUND CONTROL EQUIPMENT, and SQUADRON OPERATIONS CENTERS THAT BETTER ALIGNS WITH CURRENT PROGRAM NEEDS, FUTURE MODERNIZATION AND WEAPONS SYSTEM COUNCIL INPUT.
To ensure the readiness of the Air National Guard MQ-9 Remotely Piloted Aircraft fleet, the Iowa National Guard Officer's Association supports:
E) Establishing an Air Terminal Function at all RPA Wings without an active flying mission in order to (IOT) reestablish the capability to receive and deploy troops and equipment UTCs via Mission Readiness Aircraft (MRA) from military ramp space in support of (ISO) state and federal taskings. Further, it would provide extant capability to ship/receive via MRA larger GCE/RPA components or support future Launch and Recovery Element (LRE) requirements.
a) Context: FY14-FY 20, the 132 Wg has hosted 559 aircraft, loaded 6,936,983 lbs of fuel, and deployed 17,772 passengers from its ramp.
